He’s back home.
Richard “Xizt” Landström is the name chosen by NIP to be the organization’s Counter-Strike 2 coach. The Swede returns to the same country’s organization six years after leaving.
Xizt has been free on the market since December 2023 and is now embracing a new challenge in his coaching career.
NIP, a home Xizt knows well
For Ninjas, Xizt has spent six years as a player. Xizt represented Ninjas in Pyjamas from 2012 to 2018. At NIP, Xizt has won the ESL One: Cologne 2014 Major in addition to four other Major finals.
In 2021, the Swede left his playing career and signed as a Heroic analyst at first. Later, Xizt was promoted to coach of the Danish team.
With the team and as coach, he won the Pinnacle Cup Championship, BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2022 and BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2023. In addition, he came second in the IEM Rio Major.
AtX, Xizt spoke about returning home:
“It’s good to be home. Many questions about the new roster, and hopefully we can announce it soon. One thing I can promise is that we will work very hard to bring NIP back where we belong. Let’s get to work!”

A new challenge
The challenge and expectations in Xizt’s return to NIP are different. NIP is going through a delicate period that led to a reformulation of the CS2 project. The team is down to two members: Fredrik “REZ” Sterner and Alejandro “alex” Masanet.
InBLAST Premier Spring Showdown, the first and last competition after removing three players from the main squad, NIP played with the academy squad. In thegame against Heroic, young Max “maxster” Jansson stood out.
The changes came after the result below expectations at RMR,ending with an early elimination 0-3. With the aim of being at the top of the world inJanuary 2025, NIP’s results in recent months in international competitions have not been encouraging.
