A new version is ready to be released in Wuthering Waves: WuWa 2.3. The game gets awesome Resonators and an exciting 1st Anniversary event.
It’s been almost a year since Wuthering Waves was released, and the game is ready to celebrate! WuWa 2.3 is a version that comes right around the 1st Anniversary, and it brings many wonderful surprises.
Even before the reveal stream, players had a glimpse at the WuWa anniversary celebration — sure, with rewards. The Kuro Games developers published info on the upcoming WuWa banners, and the characters are really great.
Also, we expected details on a collaboration event coming to Wuthering Waves. It was teased during the broadcast for the previous version.
WuWa 2.3 stream: Special program to reveal everything in Version 2.3

New Resonators in Wuthering Waves 2.3: Zani and Ciaccona
These new WuWa characters were revealed previously via drip marketing pieces. The community is pretty happy about these girls!
Check out their kits and materials below. They were revealed among the official announcements of the Version 2.3 Wuthering Waves stream.
Zani, the Blazing Nightwalker
At daytime, this girl is a usual office worker. When nights fall upon the city, WuWa Zani turns into a justice warrior. She walks around the dark streets and battle all sorts of evil.
The materials for Zani in WuWa 2.3 are the following.
Zani battles with her huge shield, which deals a lot of damage. One of her skills is to make a short break mid-fight and increase momentum of her attacks. Naturally, the shield can reflect attacks.
In a Wuthering Waves team, Zani is the main DPS character. She can deal damage to all Spectro Frazzle stacks at once and convert them into her special energy to use in the Inferno Mode.
Blazing Justice is a new 5-star Gauntlets Weapon in WuWa 2.3. It has been designed specifically for Zani.
The background of Zani in Wuthering Waves 2.3 is revealed via a special Companion Story: A Blaze in the Dark.

Ciaccona: The beauty of poetry and music
As a gifted musician, Ciaccona can pick up any instrument and immediately figure out how to make music with it. While traveling across the Wuthering Waves world, Ciaccona creates poetry inspired by her experiences.
She uses music in WuWa 2.3 adventures as well. Her microphone can become a weapon, but the girl also uses other instruments. A unique feature of Ciaccona’s basic attack is a special note that gathers opponents in the center.
Ciaccona buffs WuWa teams with extra Aero DMG. The energy of her concert applies Aero Erosion or Spectro Frazzle on opponents. Ciaccona is great for chain combos.
In Version 2.3, Wuthering Waves introduces a new weapon: the 5-star Pistol Woodland Aria. It looks a lot like a musical instrument, so Ciaccona loves using it.

WuWa 1st Anniversary event and rewards
The official teaser trailer of the Wuthering Waves anniversary event shows a cute but still weird version of the game characters.
Jinhsi,Shorekeeper, Carlotta, Cartethyia, and other Resonators took the form of anime cubes. They jump onto a festive island with an enormous cake: to have a nice party.
However, an Evil Cube is apparently going to ruin the WuWa anniversary celebration and take away all the rewards. The Justice Cubes will not let this happen, and players should help them.
The teaser is pretty intriguing, and it creates intense anticipation in the community. What are the event details? What Wuthering Waves anniversary rewards await players in WuWa 2.3?
Turning into Cubes happens thanks to the Second Coming of Solaris. The event happens in a simulated world that transforms all WuWa Resonators.
Abbowser stole the anniversary cake, so Rovers have to take Cube-Resonators into a battle. The celebrations should be saved!
The special Wuthering Waves anniversary event is named Cube, Cubic n Cubie. The details and rewards are shown on the official poster.
When is WuWa 2.3 release date?
Wuthering Waves 2.3 starts on April 29. It’s also the WuWa Zani release date. This Resonator comes first in the WuWa banner schedule. Ciaccona should being available later, in phase 2.
In addition to these banners, WuWa 2.3 has Anniversary Resonator Convene Phases 1 and 2. They come alongside WuWa Anniversary Weapon Convene.
Future development of Wuthering Waves
During the WuWa 2.3 livestream, the developers from Kuro Games reflected on their journey since the game launch and looked into the future plan.

As for an exciting collaboration coming to WuWa, the Version 2.3 revealed that Kuro Games are partnering with CD Project RED. The Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk: Edgerunners event is coming in 2026, and details should be revealed later!
With such a variety of interesting content coming to WuWa, the game feels as alive as ever. A PS5 version was introduced at the beginning of 2025, and the Steam release happens on April 29. The cross-save feature works across all the supported platforms: PC, consoles, and mobile.
