The Last of Us Part 1 Office Building Looks Suspiciously Like Dunder Mifflin

A fan ofThe Last of Us Part 1has noticed that an office building found within the game looks a lot like Dunder Mifflin from the NBC comedy seriesThe Office. As the player went through the building, they noticed that a lot of the furniture, desk placements, and private rooms were very similar to what was seen in the show. It is just one of many new details that players are discovering inThe Last of Us Part 1.

In mid-2021, it was revealed that anew version ofThe Last of Uswas in development. The game was eventually titledThe Last of Us Part 1, a remake of the original. Fans of the franchise have been playing the game all the same and are noticing plenty of new details, with one of the latest finds seemingly being a nod toThe Officeof all things.

Since the new version of the game was released, fans have shared the things that they’ve discovered within the game. One gamer, for example, noticed that inThe Last of Us Part 1glass shardswill actually stay in someone’s face. More recently, TikTok user rxelei noticed that an office building in the game was a dead ringer for Dunder Mifflin fromThe Office. He went on to point out the similarities between the office within the game and that of the show.

The Officewas a mockumentary-style sitcom that ran on NBC from 2005-2013 and helped turn Steve Carell and John Krasinski into household names. The story focused on the various characters at Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, Inc and the hijinks the employees get into while working at the company. The show garnered new fans when it moved to streaming services like Netflix and gamers have created their own tributes to the series. For example, anAnimal Crossingfan recreated Dunder Mifflinwithin the game while another recreated the entire opening credit sequence. But now it appears that at least one designer fromThe Last of Us Part 1was a fan of the series as well.

WithThe Last of Us Part 1fans have discovering so many new secrets, such as aMortal KombatEaster Egg inThe Last of Us Part 1, this Dunder Mifflin cameo seems par for the course. With so many similarities to the building layout from the show, it seems likely that this was a deliberate addition by Naughty Dog.
