Sorry, those were terrible stereotypes. Today SEGA opened its doors to the new Sydney, Australia office. The house that Sonic built is trying to build their western market, and while Australians may not be down with the earlier listed stereotypes, they might agree with the statement that Aussieslove video games. They’re even happy to paymore for their consoles.

The new office will be headed up by the newly appointed Managing Director, Darren Macbeth. He is a 14 year industry vet with prior roles in Electronic Arts and GT Interactive.

“I am very honoured to have been chosen to set up and run the new SEGA Australia and New Zealand team.  I’m also really excited about the people joining the SEGA Australia and New Zealand team as they are high caliber, industry experienced people that will help take SEGA into a top 5 publisher in this market over the next few years”, commented Darren Macbeth, Managing Director of SEGA Australia.
