Rainbow Six Siege X, which is a major update, is now live and free for new players across all platforms. The update includes access to core game modes and a default roster of operators. Here’s everything you can expect in Rainbow Six Siege X.
Rainbow Six Siege X release date
Rainbow Six Siege X launched on June 10, granting players free access to various game modes plus the new and permanent Dual Front one. Dual Front, in particular, is a six-versus-six (6v6) mode with attack and defense operators plus a match assignment that rewards a team advantage. This mode also takes place in the new District map, which has mirrored areas, abandoned buildings, and more.
What’s included in Rainbow Six Siege X
In terms of specifics, the free version of the game includes access to the Quick Match, Unranked, and Dual Front modes. New players can also choose from a default roster of free operators. Other operators can be unlocked by completing tutorials and challenges.
Meanwhile, competitive players who wish to enter Ranked or Siege Cup mode must get the Elite Edition. This offer includes everything in the free version of Rainbow Six Siege X plus the ability to instantly get 16 additional operators. As for the Ultimate Edition, it includes all of the aforementioned game modes, 52 additional operators that can be immediately unlocked, plus four operator cosmetic bundles.
Several maps like Bank, Clubhouse, Border, Chalet, and Kafe have visual overhauls in Rainbow Six Siege X in general. This is paired with added destructible ingredients such as gas pipes, metal detectors, and fire extinguishers that let players control these maps in new ways.
Advanced rappelling, a revamped pick and ban system, a communication wheel, weapon inspection, improved audio, an esports tab, the revamped clearance level system, and veteran rewards are all part of this major update, too.

Rainbow Six Siege X system requirements
Speaking of platforms, Ubisoft revealed the ideal specifications for them. They can be seen below, starting with a few Rainbow Six Siege X PC requirements. Note that the Rainbow Six Siege X patch sizes vary by platform as well. On PC, the update is 51.9 GB via either Ubisoft Connect or Steam, with optional Ultra HD textures increasing the size to 91.53 GB and 39.1 GB, respectively. Console sizes range from 37.6 GB on Xbox One to 57.6 GB on Xbox Series X|S, 48.63 GB on PlayStation 4, and 41.37 GB on PlayStation 5.
