Popular streamer Imane “Pokimane” Anys has announced her move from Twitch to YouTube. She posted about this on X and provided details about her first-ever YouTube stream. Read on for details and for the reason why Pokimane quit Twitch for YouTube.
Why Pokimane quit Twitch for YouTube
According to Pokimane, she quit Twitch for herself and her long-term career growth. Pokimane explained that she will keep gaming, but she is a separate entity from Twitch. She also described that it’s her time “to be free as a bird.”
“We are talking about why I’m not re-signing with Twitch — 100% a choice that I’m making for myself and for my long-term career growth,” Pokimane saidin the video. “It’s time for me to be free as a bird. I’m gonna be gaming until I’m literally 80 in a rocking chair — playing TFT on my phone. But me and Twitch — hello — we’re two separate things. There might be certain details that I have to cut out because legal and my managers literally tell me to, but I will tell you guys the things maybe not everybody knows.”

Pokimane to stream on YouTube
Pokimane will have her first-ever YouTube stream on Feb. 1 at 12 p.m. PT. On social media, she also posted an image featuring both YouTube and Twitch streamers. According to the image, these individuals will participate in a showdown event on Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. PT.
YouTube Streamers Versus Twitch Streamers Showdown
On the side of YouTube streamers will be Pokimane herself, Ludwig “Ludwig” Anders Ahgren, Lily “lilypichu” Ki, Thomas “Sykkuno,” and Ali “Myth” Kabbani. Meanwhile, the Twitch streamers will feature Christina “TinaKitten” Kenyon, Noah “Foolish” Brown, Filian, Josh “joshseki” Seki, and Ryan Higa.
In terms of the games that will be played, they will include VALORANT, League of Legends, and Codenames. Each winner will get 100 gifted subscriptions as well.
