Encounter Shiny Celebi.
The Pokémon GO 8th Anniversary celebration will allow trainers to grab a brand new Masterwork research called Whispers in the Woods. This will grant trainers a chance to encounter Shiny Celebi.
Shiny Celebi originally appeared in Pokémon GO in the Distracted by Something Shiny Special Research story. Niantic will only let you have one Shiny Celebi, so Trainers who completed the Distracted by Something Shiny Special Research story will not be able to purchase this Masterwork Research story.
This Shiny Celebi masterwork research will be avaliable to purchase from June 28 (10am) until July 3 (8pm).
However, Trainers using the Web Store can buy the Research Ticket early, and you will get a free Raid pass included for the same price.
Pokémon GO Whispers in the Woods Masterwork Research
Thankfully the Pokémon GO Whispers in the Woods Research is a Special Research, not a timed research. That means that you may take as long as you need to work through all the steps.
However, be prepared for a grind. Masterwork research stories are designed to be completed over a long period of time. They often have time gated research (for example, catch a Pokémon 21 days in a row) that makes them a long slog to complete.

We don’t yet know the all steps for the Whispers in the Woods Masterwork research. But, it will be some time before you’re able to get your hands on a Shiny Celebi in Pokémon GO.
