Character limit doubled

Nintendo has introduced several changes to Miiverse, its online community for Wii U and 3DS players where delightfully weird stuff happens all the time and you sort of just go with it. As of the update, you’ll be able to write longer comments and post more frequently, among other things:

We’ll see how this goes over. The update is intended to improve the overall experience for “most users who keep their conversations on-topic,” according to Nintendo. On-topic and Miiverse? Heh.

I have to say, the online service has really won me over. Seeing messages pop up inNew Super Mario Bros. Uafter losing a level has been equal parts bizarre and hysterical — kids complain about how “hard” the game, while others attempt to circumvent censors to curse out Bowser.
