In solicit information for the upcomingDoctor Strangeseries from Derek Landy and Ivan Fiorelli, Strange is rocking a new costume designed by Geoff Shaw.The blue bodysuit bears a design echoing the mythical Yggdrasil- the mystic tree that empowered Strange as Asgard’s Sorcerer Supreme - while the hero also sports yellow gloves, a black cloak, and a scepter made from the tree’s powerful wood.

During theBlood Huntevent, Doctor Doom stole the Sorcerer Supreme title from Strange, along with the Eye of Agamotto and his levitating cloak. Fans knowthe villain can’t be Sorcerer Supremefor long, but Marvel has since confirmed that once he loses the title, another hero will take it up rather than it returning to Stephen Strange.

The newDoctor Strangeseries will see Strange ally withThor’s older sister Angela, who was stolen by the angels of Heven as a baby. The story will see Strange’s new title plunge him into a battle between the angels and a faction of elves. Becoming Sorcerer Supreme of Asgard isn’t just a power upgrade - Strange is now responsible for achieving magical harmony across the Ten Realms; an even bigger responsibility than protecting Earth.
This new volume ofDoctor Strangeis intended as an ongoing series, with Strange having new responsibilities and a new"mystic arsenal.“The hero will be cut off from Earthdue to the death of Thor, which fans have speculated will last for at least two years. Writer Derek Landy says:
