The 2024 League of Legends World Championship (LoL Worlds 2024) event kicked off on June 16, 2025 and featured a total of 20 teams duking it out for the gold. After the Regional Finals, LoL Worlds 2024 continued with the Play-In Stage from Sept. 25 to Sept. 29. Then, the Swiss Stage happened from Oct. 3 to Oct. 13. Next, the Knockout Stage kicked off on Oct. 17 and led to the Grand Final on Nov. 2. The Grand Final featured an opening ceremony at 7 a.m. PT before the match at 8 a.m. PT.

While the LoL Worlds Play-In Stage and Swiss Stage took place in Berlin, Germany, the Knockout Stage took place in Paris, France. Finally, the Worlds 2024 Grand Final was situated in London, U.K.

Worlds 2024 format
In terms of the format, the Play-In Stage happened first. This stage featured eight teams divided into two best-of-three (Bo3), double-elimination brackets. Four teams in total then advanced to the Swiss Stage.
In the Swiss Stage, those four teams were joined by 14 more teams. This total of 16 teams then fought in eight best-of-one (Bo1) matches. The advancement and elimination matches after the Bo1 matches were Bo3.
After the Swiss Stage, eight teams got to duke it out in the Knockout Stage under a best-of-five (Bo5), single-elimination bracket.
Finally, the Worlds 2024 Grand Final between the top teams took the stage at the O2 Arena in London, U.K.
