Crytek’sHunt: Showdownis one of the most innovative and unique shooters available. The PVP and PVE monster-hunting game is updated and tweaked regularly by the developer to ensure a balanced and content-filled experience. And now, update 1.4 has arrived on the PC forHunt: Showdown.

The biggest change toHuntwith update 1.4 has to do with burning, poison, and bleeding. Previously in the game, players can have negative effects when dealt damage from fire, poison, or sharp objects. This could be from a weapon, like a poison crossbow, monsters like ones wielding knives, or environmental objects like a barrel that explodes into fire. But now, those effects are being changed for what the developer believes is for the better.

Each of the effects now have light, medium, and intense levels. For example, instead of a hunter bursting into flames for simply walking a bit too close to fire, they may get “light burn” and have some time to deal with the issue. This creates more strategy in fights and more fair scenarios in regards to varying levels of the effects. Understanding these changes will certainly be something thatpros will do inHunt: Showdownmoving forward.

Along with the changes to the conditions, update 1.4 adds a new Poison Trip Mine and a new Trait named Serpent. Serpent will allow players to collect bounties and clues through walls, which will add to the stealth and strategy of the game. A few alterations to some of the weapons for balancing purposes is also a part of the update, which could change the META of thebest weapons inHunt: Showdown.

New Legendary items were also added, which can be purchased with Blood Bonds, and Crytek made small tweaks to issues with the game to make improvements, including making the audio even better, which is already arguably thebest part ofHunt.

The additions and alterations to the game are exciting for the community, and players on the console should have to wait much longer.Update 1.3 forHuntarrived on consolesabout a month after it did on PC, so it should be on the way shortly for the PS4 and Xbox One.

Hunt: Showdownis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
