MAD Lions add a championship calibur coach to their staff for 2022.
Former C9 head coach Kim “Reignover” Yeu-jin will be making a return to the LEC as a positional coach for the MAD Lions in the 2022 LEC Spring Split.
Following the 2021 season, Cloud9 made the announcement that they would be parting ways with longtime coach Reignover ahead of the 2022 year, ending a nearly three-year stint with the storied LCS organization. And after some silence in the offseason surrounding the player turned coach, it appears that he has found a new home with the reigning LEC champion Mad Lions.

Reignover: A successful NA chapter comes to a close
Reignover’s transition back to the LEC marks the end of a six-year tenure in NA both as a player and coach. Throughout his time in the LCS, Reignover found some success early on with Immortals in 2016, where he was named the 2016 LCS Spring Split MVP. Unfortunately, that successful first year in North America was not able to transition over to his stints on Team Liquid and Counter Logic Gaming, where he failed to make the LCS playoffs for two years, and ultimately retired from the playing side of League.

Barring those two off-years in the LCS from 2017-to 2018, Reignover has a long history of winning as both a player and a coach. Throughout this time, the Korean coach has won two LEC splits in 2015, two NA Academy Splits, and most recently an LCS split title in 2021 Spring as the team’s head coach. As he makes a return to the LEC, he will be looking to help the MAD Lions win their third LEC title in a row and provide his guidance to head coach James “Mac” MacCormack and current MAD Lions jungler Javier “Elyoya” Prades.
Mad Lions enter week 2 of the 2022 LEC Spring Split at a 2-1 record where they will look to take down the undefeated Rogue in their first game of the 2nd week.
