With every new expansion ofFinal Fantasy XIV, Mentors have a few new hoops to jump through in order to get their Mentor status back. Sometimes the number of commendations needed increases, but one thing never changes.

WhenDawntrailgoes live for early access on June 28, and then officially releases on July 2, there is going to be a distinct lack of Mentors running around Eorzea. This happens with every expansion, andDawntrailis no different. to become a Mentor once more, players will need to complete some tasks.

Gold crown in Final Fantasy XIV

Thankfully, the changes that Mentors will need to accommodate inDawntrailaren’t massive, and pretty easily achievable. There are no huge increases to the number of dungeons Battle Mentors need to complete, for example, and the number of collectables that must be synthesized or gathered aren’t going up for Trade Mentors either.

Changes to Mentor requirements in Dawntrail

Once a previous Battle Mentor heads intoDawntrail, they’ll need to wait until they can complete all of their level 100 Role Quests. These will unlock at various levels, and require the leveling of at least three Jobs (one Tank, one Healer, and one DPS) to complete.

For Trade Mentors, the only change is in reflection of the increased level cap. Players who were Trade Mentors previously will need to level one crafter and one gatherer to level 100, then they will be able to re-apply to become a Trade Mentor.

Mentor requirements in Final Fantasy XIV

This is all easily done, but it will take some time, so don’t be surprised if you don’t see too many Mentor crowns during the first few months ofDawntrail.
