The introduction of Twin Gates into Dota 2 by patch 7.33 brings a fresh and exciting take on how to play the game.

Dota 2 brings a new way to play the game with the introduction of the Twin Gates. Now, players in the side lanes are able to rotate and gank each other faster and more frequently. Below is a summary of all the essential things you need to know about the Twin Gates in order for you to use it effectively in-game.

Location of the Twin Gates

There are two Twin Gates located on each corner of the map. One on Radiant side and another on Dire. Players will take three seconds of channeling time when using the gate, and any player can use any gate at any given time. The gates are seated in between the Outpost and Roshan’s Pit. This setup allows for high-intensity, high-velocity maneuvering by players. For example, players can easily teleport to an Outpost and use the gate to get to other side and back thereby gaining map control on both ends. This is especially important when trying to secure Roshan.

A few key factors that distinguish the gate between the Radiant and Dire side:

Roshan the wanderer of dusk and dawn

As you are about to use the Twin Gates, do not start panicking when you see Roshan suddenly rampaging toward you. He just wants a ride-along. That’s right. Roshan can also use the Twin Gates to travel between his two new homes. One of the biggest changes to Roshan is that he now resides in two locations. He will be at the Radiant’s pit during the day and the Dire’s during the night, meaning he will travel and switch places every five minutes.

During his travel, Roshan gains 200 bonus movement speed, phased movement and a 200 magic damage debuff immunity piercing knockback. You can learn more about all the Roshan changes through the article below.
