pitiful news , H.P. Lovecraft fans — Prometheus may have indirectly put an end to Guillermo Del Toro ’s At the Mountains of Madness motion-picture show once and for all . Which means no elaborate GDT “ Elder Things ” project to wonder at on the big screen .
The director took to his website to explain why his Mountains motion picture might be frozen forever .
Even though Universal cancelled the R - Rated Tom Cruise attached impression earlier last year , we always held out Leslie Townes Hope that GDT would deliver ( and so did Del Toro ! ) But now it sounds like it ’s all over for the Shoggoths . GDT reveal the newsworthiness on hisofficial website .

I have been interviewed about this late and wanted to post my two cents about this :
Prometheus started filming a while ago- right at the time we were in preproduction on PACIFIC RIM . The deed itself establish me pause – knowing that ALIEN was to a great extent determine by Lovecraft and his novella .
This prison term , decades later with the budget and place Ridley Scott engage , I assumed the Greek metaphor alluded at the initiation aspects of the HPL Good Book . I conceive I am correct and if so , as a fan , I am entranced to see a new RS science fiction film , but this will probably mark a long break -if not the demise- of ATMOM .
The pitiful part is- I have been pursuing ATMOM for over a ten now- and , well , fter Hellboy II two project I dearly love were not brought to realization for me .
The practiced part is : One labor did … And I am bang it and thankful for the blessings I have received .
Onwards .
