Destiny 2’sSolstice of Heroes event may be fun on its own, but arguably its best part is theweapons you can farm god rolls for. They typically aren’t all that great, but the weapons available this year are well worth adding to your arsenal. Among all the weapons is a hand cannon with some intriguing perks as possible rolls. Here’s the god roll for the Something New hand cannon inDestiny 2.

The best perks and attachments for the Something New in Destiny 2

The Something New is a Stasishand cannonsporting theAggressive Frame archetype. This makes the gun have high damage in exchange for hefty recoil. Given that, this is the sort of hand cannon you want to run in long range to pick off distance targets, then have other weapons to handle mid and short-range encounters. With all that in mind, the following setup should complement the sniper playstyle nicely:

Arrowhead Brake is mainly taken here for the steep decrease in recoil, making the weapon much easier to use. Accurized Rounds brings some extra range into the party, which naturally plays into that sniper playstyle. Rapid Hit isexcellent if you can land precision hitssince it’s free stability and reload speed. And finally Explosive Payload can help make groups of enemies easier to deal with.

If you aren’t super confident in your ability to land headshots, then you may want toswap Rapid Hit out for Subsistence. This perk gives ammo to the magazine when killing enemies, so provided you can do that, you’ll have much longer before you need to reload.

How to get the Something New

The Something New hand cannon is acquired through the Solstice of Heroes event, available as a final rewardfrom the Bonfire Bash activity. This only shows up on a chance, so you may need to farm extensively if you want it, let alone a good roll. Another great method is through Solstice Packages, which are acquired upon completing Solstice Bounties. These can be claimed from Eva Levante in the Tower.
