After an intense weekend, BeNice crowned himself as the first Battlegrounds Lobby Legends champion. With the debut of the new Check competitive format and the return to Twitch broadcasts, Battlegrounds fans had a blast. The 16 best Battlegrounds players from all over the world got to compete for a $50,000 prize pool this weekend. Battlegrounds Lobby Legends' first event, had all the spice that the audience expected, and, leaving thedramabehind, the community could enjoy a great competitive tournament.

After winning his group in the Top 16 stage,BeNicewent above and beyond and spectacularly dominated the finals, earning $10,000 in prizes. His game was on point, and, with some luck, he was able to take on the final lobby in his first attempt under the new Check Format rules.

During the post-match interview, BeNice thanked the audience for the support he got during the weekend. Furthermore, theBattlegrounds Lobby Legends championexpressed that this win was not as easy as it seemed:“It’s so tough to win a tournament in such a stacked field”.

The debut of the Check Format

The firstBattlegrounds Lobby Legendscompetitive tournament saw the debut of the Check Format. Under this format, the first player to win a lobby while holding 20 or more points becomes the champion. It’s not only a matter of consistency, you have to go for the big plays.

BeNice recognized that “the format is perfect for the viewers”. Furthermore, he elaborated on his train of thought after putting the lobby “in Check”. When analyzing his line of play during his post-match interview theBattlegrounds Lobby Legendschampion explained why he didn’t turn right on Consistency Lane.

“In the final game, I had the safe line, going for Mama Bear and Dearthrattle stuff. I got the perfect Dearthrattle setup, but it’s not enough to win the tournament with Beasts. I had to go for the greedy line with Brann.”

Finally, when asked for a message to the viewers, the Battlegrounds Lobby Legends champion gifted us a nice self-promoting pun:“It’s nice to be important but it’s more important to be nice“.

Battlegrounds Lobby Legends continues with Noblegrarden

Thesecond Battlegrounds Lobby Legends competitive event, Noblegardens will take place on May 13th and 14th. This past week we witnessed the battle for the Top 16 Leaderboards spots in each server. Now, with the first stage locked, competitors will clash in the Qualification tournament to see who makes it to the final stage of Noblegardens.

April’s Battlegrounds season will grant invites to the third competitive event of the year. Remember that there is a total prize pool of $500,000, so expect it to be stacked!
