The Atlanta FaZ,e made it look easy en route to their second consecutive Major tournament triumph this past weekend in Allen, Texas. Here’s how the events played out at the Optic Texas-hosted CDL Major 2.

Atlanta FaZe dominate on their path to the Grand Finals

Cellium, aBeZy, Simp, and Drazah moved effortlessly through the upper bracket until the Winner’s Finals. They defeated the Minnesota ROKKR and Cloud9 New York before encountering their most formidable task yet in the Vancouver Surge.

This match-up would prove their most challenging at CDL Major 2 2025. FaZe dropped both Hardpoints to the Surge before ultimately pulling off a “neslo,” winning Control and Search and Destroy maps. From there, the eventual winners waited patiently for the outcome of the Loser’s Finals.

Sure enough, the Vancouver Surge handily took down the dangerous Toronto Ultra, setting up a rematch between FaZe and Surge.

FaZe conquer the Vancouver Surge to win CDL Major 2 2025

Following their first game-five marathon, the Grand Finals looked promising as the Surge hoped to rebound and close the rematch. However, nothing of the sort occurred on Championship Sunday in Allen, Texas. The Atlanta FaZe looked unstoppable, needing four maps to win CDL Major 2 2025.

Apart from the lone Control on Protocol, the Surge had no answer for FaZe’s teamwork and gun skill. Cellium stood out particularly, making several clutch plays and amassing a staggering 1.72 K/D in the Grand Finals. It was a routine event for the FaZe, who swept the Surge 4-0 to win the tournament.
